Innovative and environmentally-friendly educational toys which offer parents a safe alternative.
Wooden toys made from eco-friendly rubberwood
ImagiPlay’s award-winning wooden kids toys are made from plantation-grown rubberwood. For 25-30 years these wonderful trees produce a sap which is the source of virtually all the world’s rubber. At the end of their rubber-producing life, they are harvested and new trees are planted. But these majestic trees have one more gift to offer – that of their beautiful hardwood, which is used to make ImagiPlay’s products. Rubberwood is a very hard, non-splintering wood, making it ideal for toys!
Made where and by whom?
ImagiPlay’s wooden toys are made in Sri Lanka. Their factories are placed close to the neighbourhoods where its workers live so that the majority of them can walk or ride their bikes to work each day. This all-too-rare practice enables its workers to maintain quality relationships with their own children while they make toys for others. All workers are adults and get paid a fair, living wage as set by the Fair Trade Federation.
Cardboard toys made using recycled cardboard
ImagiPlay’s corrugated cardboard building blocks are made of at least 50% recycled cardboard. The trees used for the remainder are farmed. The cardboard is printed with water-based, non-toxic colourful inks. An additional clear ink coating is applied to each block to make it water-resistant. Their blocks are also recyclable.
